The 5 zip biker is one of the few shapes Maison Martin Margiela has returned to since the late 1980s, and its logic is inversion: the zips a motorcycle jacket normally wears on the outside are doubled and set into the front, so the hardware reads as line rather than armour, with hidden pockets sitting behind them. This Spring Summer 2001 version comes from line 10, the men's ready to wear line marked by the circled 10 on the numbers label, cut short in the body with a stand collar, zipped cuffs and a cotton lining, made in Italy.
