Chanel was founded by Gabrielle Chanel in Paris in 1910 and became known for the tweed suit, the little black dress, costume jewellery and the quilted bag. Karl Lagerfeld was creative director from 1983 until his death in 2019 and turned the house codes into a global language of logos, chains, bouclé and camellias. Virginie Viard followed from 2019 to 2024 and Matthieu Blazy from 2025.
The Chanel section of the AKAIBU archive spans the 1990s to the current house, with pieces from Spring Summer 1996, Fall Winter 1997, the early 2000s and strong groups from Spring Summer 2019 and Spring Summer 2024. It includes bouclé jackets and skirts, CC logo pieces, denim, Chanel Sport items from the early 2000s, cashmere and cotton knitwear, cardigans, tops, trousers, shoes and accessories. A number of pieces are runway and showroom samples, which is stated in the description of the piece.
Chanel pieces carry a season code on the inner label and a hologram sticker on bags and many accessories. We check these details together with the construction and materials on every piece before it is listed.
Every piece in this collection is examined and authenticated in house in Vienna before it is listed. We ship worldwide with tracked delivery, and our showroom in Vienna can be visited by appointment.
