Stone Island was founded in 1982 by Massimo Osti in Ravarino near Bologna as a research driven sportswear label, known for garment dyeing, treated fabrics, the compass badge and innovations such as the Ice Jacket with thermo sensitive fabric that changes colour with the temperature, first introduced in the late 1980s. Carlo Rivetti led the company from 1983 until the sale to Moncler in 2020.

The AKAIBU archive holds Stone Island pieces including 1990s archive knitwear and a Fall Winter 2012 Ice Jacket with thermo sensitive fabric.

Stone Island garments carry the compass badge with its buttons and the art number on the inner label, which identifies the season. We check these details on every piece before listing.

Every piece in this collection is examined and authenticated in house in Vienna before it is listed. We ship worldwide with tracked delivery, and our showroom in Vienna can be visited by appointment. If you own Stone Island pieces you would like to sell, see Consign with AKAIBU. If you are looking for a specific piece that is not listed, our Sourcing service can search for it.
