Hermès

Hermès was founded in Paris in 1837 as a harness maker and grew into a house for leather goods, silk, ready to wear and accessories. Womenswear was led by Martin Margiela from 1997 to 2003, who designed quiet, luxurious wardrobes in cashmere, leather and silk, and by Jean Paul Gaultier from 2003 to 2010. Véronique Nichanian has led the menswear since 1988.

The AKAIBU archive holds Hermès pieces from the 1990s to the 2020s, including womenswear by Martin Margiela and menswear by Véronique Nichanian from Fall Winter 2015 to Fall Winter 2021. It includes leather and shearling jackets, reversible coats and windbreakers, cashmere and silk knitwear, zip sweaters, trousers and a number of bags such as the Bora Bora tote and the Haut à Courroies.

Hermès pieces carry the house labels with the composition and the year code, and the leather goods carry a blind stamp. We check these details on every piece before listing. Both spellings of the vendor name are listed in this collection.
