Gucci

Gucci was founded in Florence in 1921 by Guccio Gucci as a leather goods and luggage house. The horsebit loafer, the bamboo bag and the green and red web were introduced in the following decades. Tom Ford was creative director from 1994 to 2004 and defined the house for the collectors of today with sleek tailoring, silk shirts, velvet, low cut trousers, metal hardware and an openly sensual language. Frida Giannini, Alessandro Michele and Sabato De Sarno followed, and Demna has led the house since 2025.

The AKAIBU archive concentrates on the Tom Ford years, with pieces from Fall Winter 1997 to Fall Winter 2004 and strong groups from Spring Summer 2003 and Spring Summer 2004. It includes silk shirts and tops, embroidered and monogram pieces, velvet and leather jackets, shearling, python and suede, trousers, skirts, dresses, heels and accessories. A smaller group comes from the Alessandro Michele years.

Gucci pieces carry the season code and the serial number on the inner labels, and the shoes and bags are made in Italy. We check these details on every piece.
