A washed print shirt from Christian Dior's Cruise 2018 collection, the season Maria Grazia Chiuri staged in the Santa Monica Mountains of California. Across the piece runs imagery drawn from the Motherpeace tarot, the feminist deck conceived in the 1970s by Karen Vogel and Vicki Noble, here carrying the Temperance card that Chiuri reworked into the collection's printed motifs. The faded, lived in surface lends the symbolism a softened, hand worn quality. It reads as a study in mysticism translated into ready to wear.
