Roberto Cavalli printed Elizabeth Taylor across his Spring Summer 2001 collection, cropping her painted eye and mouth large enough for a single face to span a whole panel. The motif ran through the season on capri pants, tops and dresses, always set among roses and gilded ornament. On this silk dress the eye sits at the front with the lower half of the face beneath it, cut sleeveless and flaring out from a narrow shoulder.
