Maison Martin Margiela Maison Margiela FW20 Navy Multicolor Destroyed Cardigan

A navy cardigan from Maison Martin Margiela's Fall Winter 2020 season, its multicolor surface broken up by deliberate destruction, with torn and unravelled sections left visible. John Galliano built that season around deconstruction and the house's Recicla program, which reworked existing garments and kept the traces of the process in the finished design. Distressed knitwear carried much of that idea on the runway, with ripped, laddered and re-sewn pieces running through the collection.
