Comme des Garçons has repeatedly pulled the bustier out of its lingerie context, treating it as a garment to be rebuilt rather than underpinning. This one is cut in wool and finished with embroidered detailing. Wool is a material Rei Kawakubo has manipulated as intensively as any other, famously boiling and shrinking it after construction for the 1994 Metamorphosis collection.
