Reconstruction ran through Comme des Garçons long before the approach entered wider fashion vocabulary, and Rei Kawakubo's early 1990s menswear applied it to everyday garments as readily as to runway pieces. This longsleeve from Fall Winter 1993 is spliced together from separate panels, with the printed logo breaking where the sections meet. That detail gave the piece the name collectors use for it, the split logo longsleeve.
