Louis Vuitton was founded in Paris in 1854 as a trunk maker, and the monogram canvas was introduced in 1896. Ready to wear started in 1997 with Marc Jacobs as the first creative director, who stayed until 2013 and worked with Takashi Murakami on the Multicolore monogram in 2003. Menswear was led by Kim Jones from 2011 to 2018 and by Virgil Abloh from 2018 until his death in 2021, with Pharrell Williams following in 2023.

The AKAIBU archive focuses on menswear from Spring Summer 2016 to Spring Summer 2021, including Kim Jones collections with the Chapman Brothers artworks and the Virgil Abloh collections from Spring Summer 2019, Spring Summer 2020 and Spring Summer 2021. It also holds Marc Jacobs era pieces from 2003 to 2010 and Murakami monogram items. The collection includes silk and cotton shirts, jackets, cargo pants, knitwear, footwear, Keepall and other bags and accessories. A number of pieces are runway samples, prototypes and staff pieces that were never sold in stores, which is stated in the description of each piece.

We check Louis Vuitton date codes, heat stamps and labels on every piece and note the season when it can be confirmed.

Every piece in this collection is examined and authenticated in house in Vienna before it is listed. We ship worldwide with tracked delivery, and our showroom in Vienna can be visited by appointment. If you own Louis Vuitton pieces you would like to sell, see Consign with AKAIBU. If you are looking for a specific piece that is not listed, our Sourcing service can search for it.
