The Elder Statesman was founded in Los Angeles in 2007 by Greg Chait and is known for hand loomed, hand dyed cashmere made in its own workshop. The tie dye and striped knitwear, the oversized cardigans and the towelling pieces combine a Californian sensibility with some of the most expensive yarns in the industry.

The AKAIBU archive holds The Elder Statesman cashmere shirts, polos and cardigans, tie dye and striped knitwear, embroidered pieces, towelling and chenille items, sherpa jackets and belts.

The Elder Statesman pieces carry the woven label with the composition and the made in USA mark. We check the labels and the knit construction on every piece before listing.

Every piece in this collection is examined and authenticated in house in Vienna before it is listed. We ship worldwide with tracked delivery, and our showroom in Vienna can be visited by appointment. If you own The Elder Statesman pieces you would like to sell, see Consign with AKAIBU. If you are looking for a specific piece that is not listed, our Sourcing service can search for it.
