Roberto Cavalli SS01 Pearl Print Silk Scarf

A silk scarf by Roberto Cavalli from Spring Summer 2001. The season ran on printed silk, bias cut slips, halter necks and high slits, its surfaces carrying trompe l'oeil prints of roses, jewels and watching eyes, and strands of pearls sit inside that jewel print family. It was the moment of Cavalli's great comeback, US sales multiplying twentyfold within two years while WWD crowned him the King of Sex, excess declared as the program.
