Hermès Hermes 2000s by Martin Margiela Brown Knit Cardigan

Between 1997 and 2003, Martin Margiela directed the women's ready to wear at Hermès, stripping the collections of logos and building them instead around material quality and ease of wear. This brown knit cardigan comes from the 2000s stretch of that work, a period now read as a founding moment of understated luxury. Margiela's Hermès output was largely overlooked in its own time and was reappraised through the exhibition Margiela, the Hermès Years, first staged in Antwerp in 2017.
