Maison Martin Margiela SS01 Artisanal Folded Clover Shirt

A shirt from Maison Martin Margiela's Artisanal line for spring summer 2001, the program under which existing garments were remade by hand in the house's Paris atelier. The folded clover work that gives the piece its name comes from a season whose Artisanal output also included shirtfronts pieced together from vintage clothing labels and skirts assembled from several found garments. Within the Margiela numbering system Artisanal was designated line 0 and produced in very small quantities each season.
