A black dress from Azzedine Alaïa with a textured finish. Alaïa shaped his dresses directly on the body, relying on knit construction and precisely varied tension rather than internal structure, and he often had fabrics developed exclusively for the house. The Tunisian born couturier worked from his Paris atelier and continued fitting garments by hand until his death in 2017.
