Margiela treated leather as something to be aged rather than protected, and this Spring Summer 2002 jacket takes that furthest: the hide is rubbed back until the brown finish breaks over the shoulders, elbows and hem and the pale layer underneath shows through, so the wear of a jacket carried for years is built in from the start. The cut is the house biker, two long front zips over concealed pockets, a stand collar, zipped cuffs and a cropped body, lined in brushed cotton. The numbers label carries the circled 10 of the men's line.
