Product Details

Maison Martin Margiela introduced the Tabi at its first show in 1988, translating the split toe of the traditional Japanese tabi sock into a heeled boot whose soles were dipped in red paint to print tracks along the runway. Over the founder's two decades at the house the shape was reworked almost every season, appearing as sandals, flats, sneakers and boots of varying heights. This brown pair from the 2000s takes the silhouette to knee height, extending a full shaft above the split toe.
