Jean Paul Gaultier 90s Classique Mesh Palm Print Dress

Printed stretch mesh became one of Jean Paul Gaultier's signature materials in the 1990s, produced with the Italian manufacturer Fuzzi and covered in graphic all-over patterns. This dress belongs to the Classique label from that decade, its sheer mesh carrying a palm print. Gaultier's 1994 Les Tatouages collection had established transparent printed tulle as a core of his ready-to-wear, and the material ran through his lines for years afterward.
