Helmut Lang AW00 Grey Painter Denim

Paint spattered denim entered the Helmut Lang vocabulary in the late 1990s, and for autumn winter 2000 the painter jeans returned in a run of grey and charcoal washes. This grey pair belongs to that season: classic cut cotton denim produced in Italy, washed and finished with the strokes of paint that gave the style its name. The design proved unusually influential, with later paint treatments at Dsquared2, Diesel and Fear of God tracing back to Lang's original.
