Maison Martin Margiela Paint Splatter GATs

Maison Martin Margiela's GAT, formally the Replica sneaker, reproduces a training shoe issued to the German army in the 1970s. The house began by hand painting surplus army pairs in the early 2000s before bringing the model into its own production. On this pair the upper carries a paint splatter finish, a treatment Margiela has issued in many variations and one that echoes the white paint covering the maison's stores and furniture.
