Maison Martin Margiela SS09 Circle Grey Top

Maison Martin Margiela's Spring/Summer 2009 collection marked twenty years of the house and its fortieth womenswear show, staged as a revision of pivotal ideas from the label's own history. Circular construction was among them: garments cut from flat circles that only take form on the body, a line of thought reaching back to the two dimensional pieces of Spring/Summer 1998. This grey top comes out of that group of circle cuts.
