Tom Ford took over Gucci as creative director in 1994 and rebuilt the Milanese house around a frank, body-led glamour. Plunging necklines became an early signature, running through his knitwear from the Autumn Winter 1995 breakthrough show onward. This deep-necked knit top dates from those 1990s seasons, the first stretch of Ford's decade at Gucci.
