Chanel AW97 by Karl Lagerfeld Blood Red Coat

Karl Lagerfeld designed this blood red coat for Chanel's Autumn Winter 1997 ready-to-wear collection. By then he had spent close to fifteen years at the house, translating Gabrielle Chanel's codes into the sleeker lines of the nineties. Almost three decades later the coat counts as vintage Chanel from the middle years of a tenure that ran from 1983 until 2019.
