Balmain SS08 by Christophe Decarnin Embellished Black Runway Dress

This embellished black dress appeared on the Balmain Spring Summer 2008 runway, presented in Paris in autumn 2007 during Christophe Decarnin's early seasons at the house. Decarnin rebuilt Balmain around pieces like it, compact silhouettes carrying dense hand-applied decoration, and that formula made the label one of the most imitated in Paris by the end of the decade.
