Alexander McQueen FW06 Widdows of Culloden Pin Dress

Alexander McQueen showed The Widows of Culloden on 3 March 2006 in Paris, a collection rooted in his Scottish ancestry and named for the women left behind after the battle of 1746. He dedicated the season to his friend and muse Isabella Blow, and closed the show with a spectral projection of Kate Moss inside a glass pyramid. This pin dress belongs to that Autumn/Winter 2006 offering, which drew on Highland dress alongside late Victorian and 1950s references. Women's Wear Daily ranked the collection among its ten best of the season.
