Product Details

The Hunger, Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 1996 collection and the seventh under his own name, took its title from the 1983 vampire film and is the season behind this embroidered black tank top. McQueen built the show around sharp tailoring, experimental materials and strategically bared skin in a palette of red, white and black, threading motifs of thorns, feathers and leopard spots through the lineup. The same season produced one of his most cited objects, a translucent moulded bodice with live worms sealed inside, and an ensemble from The Hunger was later shown in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Savage Beauty retrospective.
