Maison Martin Margiela SS02 Artisanal Reconstructed Leather Patch Grey Denim

Maison Martin Margiela's Artisanal line, identified by the circled 0 on its numbered label, reworked existing garments by hand in the house's Paris atelier. For Spring Summer 2002 that process turned to denim: found jeans were taken apart and reassembled, here in grey, with leather patches set into the rebuilt fabric. Every Artisanal garment was made individually, so panel layout and patch placement differ from piece to piece.
