The cigarette shoulder is one of Maison Martin Margiela's earliest signatures: a narrow pad set high above the natural shoulder line, so that the wearer's own shoulder sits beneath the inset. It defined the tailoring of Autumn Winter 1989, one of the very first collections the house presented in Paris. This coat carries that construction in black wool.
