Maison Martin Margiela 1990 Reconstructed Split Farbric Dress

Maison Martin Margiela's earliest seasons around 1990 established the house's language of deconstruction: exposed seams, garments taken apart and rebuilt, dresses assembled from fragments of existing fabric. This dress applies that approach through a reconstructed split fabric construction, joining separate materials into a single garment. Margiela's Spring Summer 1990 show, staged in a Parisian playground, remains one of the defining presentations of that early period.
