Louis Vuitton SS21 Monogram Inflatable Life Vest

Virgil Abloh designed this inflatable Monogram life vest for Louis Vuitton's Spring Summer 2021 collection. Made in Belgium from PVC, the gilet closes with a central front zip and inflates through three valves, taking its shape from a flotation vest while carrying the house Monogram across the surface. After its release in early 2021 the design became one of the season's most discussed pieces, prompting a wave of DIY imitations on Chinese social media.
