Jean Paul Gaultier SS01 Demon Cut Out Dress

For Spring Summer 2001, Jean Paul Gaultier drew on heavy metal iconography, with skulls, bats and infernal flames appearing on the show invitation itself. This cut out dress comes from that collection and carries its demon motif, a graphic Gaultier based on the subversive imagery of metal bands. Versions of the demon, often shown crouching beneath a gothic house emblem, ran across the season's mesh tops, cardigans and knitwear.
