Product Details

Rei Kawakubo spent the 1990s dismantling the conventions of Western dressmaking at Comme des Garçons, and asymmetry was one of her sharpest tools. This dress carries that signature, cut off axis in raw wool. Kawakubo's mid nineties collections treated wool roughly on purpose, boiling and shrinking the fabric after the garments were sewn so that the material distorted their shape.
